ZUNA -Chimanimani Relief Response

In March 2019, Zimbabwe was shocked by one of the most horrific natural disasters to ever hit Africa which was Cyclone Idai leaving thousands desperate for various needs. ZUNA answered the pleas of the Chimanimani people who were desperate for humanitarian aid. ZUNA partnered with AquaPlus an Indian company involved in the manufacturing of water filters and WASH equipment and sent down a team to Chimanimani to donate water filters which were installed at a school and a clinic an donated Chlorine tablets. ZUNA also did a needs assessment which was featured in the NANGO monthly newspaper which helped shed some more light on the desperate situation of the Chimanimani people. ZUNA has however not forgotten the Chimanimani people and is planning on sending another team down with bucket filters to different households to help with clean drinking water. The Indian team also took some time before their return to India while hosting a WASH training workshop for the ZUNA High School Patrons.
